This publication was the result of a joint effort between FBDS and Lloyd's, of studies prepared by experts on the impacts of extreme weather events in Brazil. At its launch was held the seminar "Impacts of Extreme Climate Events in Brazil", which gathered in the Museum Environment, representatives of governments, experts, entrepreneurs and scientists for a discussion of the occurrence of extreme events and their potential impacts on the generation of energy, agriculture and major coastal cities.
The result of a partnership between FBDS and Sustainability, the project "Road to Credibility: A survey of sustainability reporting in Brazil" aims to analyze the quality of published reports, encourage Brazilian companies to improve their practices in reporting results and expose what global companies can learn through this practice. Sustainability is a British strategic business consulting firm, and independent research center that seeks to highlight the best practices in terms of sustainability reports from various sectors. We were asked to create the brand and the publication graphic design.
In 2009, much of the Brazilian productive sector was involved in the preparation to the 15th Conference of the Parties (COP 15) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), held in Denmark. FBDS prepared this series of four publications - first volume of the "Business Coalition for the Climate" - that presented initiatives in various sectors. We were responsible for the graphic design of these publications, in addition to the commitment letter carried out by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva to be presented in Copenhagen.
FBDS - Brazilian Foundation for Sustainable Development is a nonprofit organization that differentiate it self with the articulated experience with the scientific community, international development agencies and national corporations. Since 2008 we are responsible for their "notebooks" publications that bring together analysis of the major sectors of the Brazilian economy and bring suggestions for actions and policies in the transition to a sustainable economy. The collection "Guidelines for a Green Economy in Brazil", is the second volume of the "Business Coalition for Climate" and brings a series of twelve publications.
This book is a product of the partnership with SESI-DN FBDS to bring together knowledge generated in two meetings in 2010. The topics discussed at these events were the challenges of Brazilian companies after COP-15 and inclusive business.
This publication presents the results of the second meeting of the Sustainable Series Seminars, held in the auditorium of AES Brazil, where they discussed the limiting factors to implementing the recommendations of the IPCC emission reduction as the Transportation Matrix, Electricity Generation and Amazon Deforestation . The speakers presented the world scene and focused on the brazilian pointing the obstacles and suggesting possible solution.
This publication presents the results of the first meeting of the Sustainable Seminar Series, held at the FBDS on April 28, 2008, where were held scientific, economic and political debates during the "Brazil's current positioning for the post-Kyoto negotiations." In this debate, researchers, entrepreneurs, governments and civil society speakers, enriched the discussions on climate change, global warming and proposed possible ways to overcome the problems caused by unsustainable development.
This publication, together with FBDS was made in order to assess the degree of maturity of sustainability management in SESI's partners companies, of different sizes and different states and federations. In this study, there are best practices carried out at companies, as well as the benefits perceived by its executives. We created the design project, print and call for action pieces.
